Host Jeff Olivet visits Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program where they are working to prevent drug overdose and support treatment and recovery. His honest conversations with a person in treatment and a nurse and doctor bring to light some of the real, day-to-day issues of the opioid epidemic.
Thank you for this program. I saw a woman overdose last week, after a meal for the homeless. It looked as if she had died (in front of her two children!). And then firefighter-paramedics brought her back from the dead with Narcan and other drugs. The whole incident shook me and my friends to the bone! We want to understand this epidemic better. Thanks!
